Services

We build software for organisations that have outgrown the way they are working now — and for founders with a product to sell. If you are not sure which of these you need, that is a normal place to start from.

What we do

Four things we build

Most of our work is one of these four. If yours does not fit neatly into any of them, that is worth a conversation rather than a guess.

SaaS Products

Software you sell by subscription — built so a customer can find you, sign up, pay and start using it without anyone on your team touching the process.

  • Sign-up, subscriptions and recurring billing
  • Separate, private workspaces for every customer
  • Admin controls and permission levels for your team
  • Usage reporting, so you can see what people actually use

Custom ERP & Business Systems

One system that replaces the spreadsheets, paper files and WhatsApp threads your organisation currently runs on — built around how you already work, not the other way round.

  • Admissions, records, attendance, fees, inventory or orders
  • A different view for each role — staff, management, parents, customers
  • Reports and exports your team can run without asking us
  • Connects to the systems you already pay for

Mobile Apps

iPhone and Android apps built from a single codebase, so a new feature reaches both at the same time instead of being budgeted twice.

  • One app, both app stores
  • Keeps working when the signal drops, syncs when it returns
  • Push notifications that reach the right people
  • We handle the App Store and Play Store submissions

E-Commerce

Online stores that are quick to browse, simple to check out of, and straightforward for your team to run once we hand them over.

  • Product catalogue, cart and checkout
  • Payment and delivery options that suit your market
  • Stock, orders and customers in one place
  • Built to be found in search from day one
Also included

The work that comes with it

These rarely arrive as a project on their own — they are the parts of building software properly that get skipped when someone is quoting to win on price.

Design & User Experience

We design the screens and test them with real users before anything is built — changing a drawing is cheap, changing a finished system is not.

  • Sessions with the people who will actually use it
  • A clickable version to try before development starts
  • A consistent look that carries across every screen
  • Checked against accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2 AA)

Hosting & Infrastructure

Somewhere secure and reliable for your software to run — sized for today's usage, ready for next year's, and with no surprise bill at the end of the month.

  • Handles busy periods without falling over
  • Costs modelled up front, and reviewed as you grow
  • Backups, and a tested plan for when something fails
  • Private by default — your data stays yours

AI Features

Practical AI inside the product you already have — searching your own documents, reading paperwork, drafting the repetitive parts. Scoped to a result you can measure, not a demo.

  • Ask-a-question search across your own files and records
  • Pulling data out of invoices, forms and documents
  • A person stays in the loop on anything that matters
  • Tested for accuracy before it goes anywhere near customers

Releases & Reliability

Updates that go out safely, on a normal working day, and can be undone in minutes if something is wrong.

  • Every change tested automatically before it ships
  • Updates with no downtime for your users
  • We are alerted to problems before your customers call
  • Any release can be reversed quickly

Ongoing Support

Long-term ownership with agreed response times — security updates, improvements and a roadmap that keeps moving after launch.

  • Agreed response times, in writing
  • Security updates applied as they are released
  • Performance watched and tuned over time
  • A quarterly review of what to build next
How we work

Seven steps from idea to running software

No black box. At every stage you know what is happening now, what happens next, and what you will have in your hands at the end of it.

  1. Understanding how you work

    1–2 weeks

We sit with the people who do the work and map what actually happens — including the workarounds nobody wrote down. This is where we find the awkward details that would otherwise surface in month three.

You receive: A written summary of what we will build, and what could go wrong

  2. Planning it out

    1 week

How the system will be put together, what connects to what, and the order we will build it in. You approve the plan before anyone writes code.

You receive: A build plan you have agreed to, in plain language

  3. Designing the screens

    2–3 weeks

Rough sketches through to a version you can click through as if it were real. Your team tries it and tells us what is wrong while changing it is still cheap.

You receive: A clickable version of the system to try

  4. Building it

    Two-week cycles

We build in two-week blocks, and at the end of each one there is something working for you to use — not a progress report. You see it come together instead of waiting for a reveal.

You receive: Something working to try, every two weeks

  5. Testing

    Throughout

Automatic checks run on every change, and we test by hand as well — including how the system behaves when a lot of people use it at once, and whether anyone can reach data they should not. Problems are fixed in the cycle that caused them.

You receive: A written account of what was tested, including security

  6. Going live

    1 week

We put it live without taking the system down, set up the alerts that tell us if something goes wrong, and prove we can undo the release before we need to.

You receive: A live system, plus written instructions for running it

  7. Staying on afterwards

    Ongoing

Agreed response times, security updates applied as they are released, and a review every quarter of what to improve next. The system keeps getting better instead of quietly ageing.

You receive: Agreed response times, monitoring and a roadmap

How we build

Boring technology, chosen on purpose

You should not have to evaluate our tools — that is our job. But if someone technical on your side wants to look, here is what we use and, more usefully, what each part is responsible for.

What people see

Screens that stay fast as the system grows.

  • ReactThe screens themselves
  • Next.jsPages that load quickly and rank well
  • TypeScriptCatches whole classes of bug before release
  • Tailwind CSSKeeps every screen visually consistent
  • AccessibilityUsable with a keyboard and a screen reader

What does the work

The engine room — it holds up when everyone logs in at once.

  • Node.jsFast responses, and live updates where needed
  • JavaFor systems that need to run for a decade
  • Spring BootMoney and records handled correctly
  • REST & GraphQLHow your apps and partners connect in
  • PythonReporting, data work and AI features

Where your data lives

Organised around the questions you will actually ask of it.

  • PostgreSQLRecords that stay correct under pressure
  • MongoDBFor data whose shape changes over time
  • MySQLWell-proven, widely supported
  • RedisKeeps frequently used data instant
  • Vector searchLets AI features search your own content

Where it runs

Updates that go out safely, and no surprise outages.

  • AWSHosting, in the region you need it
  • DockerRuns the same everywhere, so releases hold no surprises
  • Automated testingEvery change is checked before it ships
  • TerraformYour setup is written down, not remembered
  • MonitoringWe hear about problems before your users call
